Your journey begins early in the morning at around 2:00 a.m. with a pick-up from your hotel in Hurghada. For guests staying in Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, Soma Bay, or Safaga, transfer surcharges apply. We recommend ordering a breakfast box from your hotel reception in advance. The drive to Cairo takes approximately five hours from Hurghada and around six from Makadi Bay. Upon arrival in Cairo at around 8:00 a.m., you’ll start your sightseeing tour with either the Giza Plateau or the Egyptian Museum, depending on traffic and timing.
On the Giza Plateau, you’ll have the chance to get up close to the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, with the option to enter the pyramid for an additional fee. You’ll also see the Great Sphinx and visit the Solar Boat Museum, where a reconstructed vessel built for Pharaoh Khufu’s afterlife journey is on display. This incredible artifact was discovered in 1954, undisturbed in a pit beside the pyramid.
After exploring Giza, you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (drinks not included), followed by a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. This world-renowned museum houses over 120,000 ancient artifacts, including the stunning golden sarcophagus and treasures of the young pharaoh Tutankhamun, discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings. Walking through the museum, you’ll find countless fascinating exhibits that tell the story of Egypt’s long and rich history.
Throughout the tour, a licensed Egyptologist guide will accompany you, offering insights, historical background, and recommendations. You may also visit the Papyrus Institute or a perfumery featuring original flower essences, where you can purchase authentic souvenirs. The tour concludes around 5:00 p.m., followed by the return drive to Hurghada, with arrival back at your hotel at approximately 10:00 p.m.
